Friday's MAAC Tournament Recaps - 3/4/05

Here are recaps I wrote for The Sports Network.

MAAC TOURNAMENT - FIRST ROUND
Friday, March 4, 2005

#5 Iona 68, #10 Siena 51

#7 Canisius 62, #8 Marist 60

#6 Manhattan 88, #9 Loyola 67

The Greyhounds need to be put to sleep

BUFFALO - The Loyola Greyhounds are losing 45-17 at halftime to Manhattan...they truly are dogs and will be put out of their misery after these last 20 minutes of game time.

What am I doing here?

BUFFALO - I am not asking that rhetorically, although once I leave the arena and realize that I am in Buffalo, I probably will ask myself what am I doing here.

However, in this case, I made that the headline because if you click it, you will be taken to The Sports Network's MAAC Tournament scoreboard page. Once you are there, click on the links that say "wrap" and you will see my game recaps.

So basically I have found a way to way to attend the games for free and get paid (not much, of course, but it's something) for writing these things. Not a bad scam when you consider I would have still come up here for this even if I had to pay.

Rider's Mouton wins 6th man, 3 other Broncs honored by MAAC

BUFFALO - Terrance Mouton, a sophomore guard on the Rider men's basketball team, was named one of three co-recipients of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Sixth Man of the Year award.

In addition, senior Kim Peto and juniors Christine Catalanotto and Tami Trimming of the Rider women's basketball team were named to the MAAC's All-Academic Team.

WBB: Niagara ends Rider's season

BUFFALO, NY - The Rider women's basketball team saw its first season under head coach Tori Harrison come to an end with a 69-46 loss to Niagara in the second round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament at HSBC Arena.

What exactly does "endless" mean?

I posted this after seeing an interesting exit sign on I-81 in northeastern Pennsylvania on my way up to Buffalo. Take a listen.

On the road to Buffalo

Well, I am about to get in the car and head on up to Buffalo. I may or may not put some audio posts up here along the way...depends on how much traffic I hit ; )
