Ex-Bronc minor league update #2

Well, the two former Broncs in the Atlanta Braves' farm system are both doing very well.

RHP Kevin Barry of the Triple-A Richmond Braves has certainly righted himself since a brief trip back to Double-A ball. Kevin pitched six innings of shutout ball in his most recent start (a 2-1 win in 10 innings at Indianapolis on Aug. 24), striking out eight, walking three and allowing just three hits.

Kevin, the International League Pitcher of the Week for Aug. 8-14, is now 4-3 with a 3.09 ERA and one save in 30 games (six starts) for Richmond this season. He tossed 7 1/3 innings over three games and compiled no record and a 1.23 ERA in his brief stint with the Double-A Mississippi Braves.

Meanwhile, OF Carl Loadenthal continues to excel for the High-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Since he was promoted from low-A Rome to Myrtle Beach, Carl is batting .296 with five home runs, 18 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 49 games with the Pelicans. He has a solid .832 OPS (.364 on-base percentage + .468 slugging percentage) with Myrtle Beach.
